新車の時から付いていたROCKSHOXのジュディSLですが、ボトムケース上部のシール部分のひび割れがひどくなってきていました。
先輩のキャノンデールのロックアウト機能付きのフロントショックを羨ましく思っていたこともあり、交換することに。

ネットオークションで、新車外しのロックアウト機能付きフォークが出品されていたので落札。
SRサンツアーのXCR-V2というモデルです。
モデル名の「XC」というのは多分クロスカントリーで、「R」はやはりレーシングなんでしょうか。
届いたものをジュディと比較してみると、アクスルからブレーキ台座は同じ長さです（26インチ用だから当然ですね）が、下玉押し部分で20mm程サンツアーの方が長いようです。

ネットで交換方法を検索すると、下玉押しというパーツを移植しなければならないようです。
自分で交換する人は「下玉押しをマイナスドライバーで抜いて、塩ビパイプで圧入する」というような方法を取るそうですが、自分は失敗が怖かったので、サイクルベースあさひさんに持ち込んで交換をお願いしました。
消費税込みで840円で済んでしまいました。めでたしめでたし。
組み込んでみると、今までのジュディはインナーチューブがチタンのような色だったのですが、今度は黒いので更に足回りが真っ黒な感じに。
こうなるとペダルも黒くしたくなります。
乗車して右側の青いレバーがロックアウトのツマミで、左側の茶色のツマミがプリロード調整用のもの。
ロックアウトレバーをロック側にして走ってみると、確かにダイレクトな乗り心地に。
サイクリングロードや土手の舗装路ではロック状態にすれば快適に走れそうです。
これで我がXTC号は新車から残っている部分はフレームとシートポストくらいになってしまいました。
そこでフレームに関する小ネタを一つ。

何とてつのXTC号はカーボンフレームだったのでした！
というのは冗談で、最近自転車に嵌っているおずびー氏がカーボンパターンのカッティングシートでGIANTのロゴを切ってくださったのでした。
良く見ないとわからない誰にも気付いてもらえない自己満足のネタでした。
